Calgary to Banff - Alberta Canada

We saw mountain goats and squirrels along the walk. Well, we thought they were goats but maybe they were sheep. They tell us the local wildlife we will see are mostly Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, Golden mantled ground squirrels and Hoary marmots. Select the photo below and see what you think. This photo shows the 1km track they call the Banff Skywalk. It skirts along the summit ridge and leads to the Cosmic Ray Station which is a National Historic Site of Canada. This is also the historic Sanson’s Peak Meteorological Station. Due to its high elevation Sulphur Mountain was one of the most important cosmic ray stations that took part in the International Geophysical Year (1957-1958) study, involving 66 countries, to study the sun’s affect on the earth's atmosphere and environment.
