Edmonton to Jasper, Alberta

The mineral rich hot water is piped back to this pool. Bathers have been coming to the beautiful Fiddle Valley since the turn of the century to swim in these soothing warm mineral-rich waters. The ruins of the old spring baths are still there by the creek. Select the photo to see the old ruins.  We hiked back 2.5km to the Empress and tried again with still no luck. All the tricks that had worked before didn't seem to tempt her to start. We flagged down a passing motorist, Sion from Ghana, who was happy to help. Petrol (gas) in the 'carby' finally did the trick and we continued on our trip to Jasper. Thanks Sion and the maintenance man at the Springs who gave us the orange juice bottle filled with petrol (gas) to help us on our way!
