Banff National Park, Alberta

Minnewanka Lake is fed by the Cascade River as it flows east from Cascade Mountain through Stewart Canyon. The canyon is named for Canada's first national park superintendant, George Stewart. In 1885, the first 26 square kilometres were set aside in Alberta for the nation's education and enjoyment and was called Rocky Mountains Park. The park was enlarged and in 1930 it was renamed as Banff National Park. There is no filter on this photo - this beautiful blue colour is exactly how it looked.
