Mt Mee State Forest, Qld 2009

The first Europeans to enter the D'Aguilar Range area were timber-getters and gold prospectors in the 1860s. Much of the valley country either side of D'Aguilar Range was then cleared and farmed. At the Gantry picnic area, just as you enter Mt Mee State Forest, you can see the remains of an old sawmill which operated until 1981.
