Tepelena Castle dates back to the 1400s. The powerful Ottoman ruler, Ali Pashë Tepelena, lived here in the 1700s. The fortified walls follow the slope of the land around the 4 hectares of land that is now a residential area. Roads are starting to deteriorate with patches of new work.
