Lake Barrine

We visited Lake Eacham and Lake Barrinne. Lake Eacham suffered the worst effects of Cyclone Larry and the walks, toilets and picnic areas were closed off for repairs. Many trees were uprooted or snapped off. It will take quite a while for the rainforest to fully repair itself I imagine. We had lunch at the cafe at Lake Barrine which is well known for its devonshire teas. I can definitely recommend the BLT toasted sandwiches with Aoli sauce also. You can go for a cruise around the lake which we have done on a previous visit so didn't do this time. Both of these lakes were created about 10000 years ago when water filled the craters of adjacent Maar Volcanoes.
