UK and Europe Roadtrip - Mechelen

The baroque-style high altar of Mechelen's Cathedral certainly dominates St Rumbolds. The pillars, tilework and marble altar was designed by Willem Hesius and sculpted by Lucas Faydherbe around 1665. Various sculptures, gilded decorative artwork and religious artifacts surround the main altar.
