Brisbane Day Trips

You could feel the series of explosions in your chest and see the flashes and smoke without the binoculars. This series of photos shows how quickly it happened. Unfortunatley the smoke came towards us which obscured it a little. The HMAS Brisbane, nicknamed ‘The Steel Cat’, was a Charles F. Adams class guided missile destroyer. It was commissioned on 16 December 1967 and scuttled on 31 July 2005.
