Burleigh Beaches, Gold Coast - Queensland

This is one of the scrub turkey mounds scattered throughout the Burleigh National Park. The male bird tests the temperature of the nest to see if it is suitable for the eggs. It drags leaves and mulch from all around the area to build this impressive mound.
