Port Augusta to Clare & Burra

The early rapid development of the Burra Burra Mine meant there was a shortage of housing available for the miners and their families. Their solution was to dig out shelters in the banks of the Burra Creek. The little caverns were divided into apartments but the unsanitory conditions as well as the floods put a stop to that.
