Fiji Holiday - Vudu Point Marina

We weren't introduced to "Fiji time" until we reached Vuda Marina. The flight was on time, going through customs was very fast and the "Green Turtle" consultant, who we booked our first 5 nights through, was there waiting for us with a shell lei greeting and the shuttle bus in the carpark. Apart from the driver and the consultant we had a "tour guide" who was very interesting and filled us in on some of the history of the people and the area as we drove the 20 minutes north of the airport to Vuda Point Marina. The speed boat to transfer us to Bounty Island was booked for 4:15pm. After a quick phone call when we arrived, the consultant assured us he would be there at 4:30. We were happy to sit for a while and soak up the surroundings so assured them we were fine and they left. The boat certainly did arrive at 4:30 - again so far so good. Lovelove (yes that is his real name) explained that the driver of the boat had to wait for some other passengers before we left but it wouldn't be long. We were happy with that and he proceeded to keep us company and tell us all about his nearby village, fijian culture and social structure, the "first landing" which occurred near here and he pointed out all of the islands. Fiji time! We didn't leave until 5:45pm.We felt we knew a fair bit about fijian culture and history by then though so it was time well spent.
