We found the self guided walk around the historic Emu Ridge Distillery very interesting. Emu Ridge is the first business in SA to be self sufficient in steam power. They use steam distillation to obtain Eucalyptus or Tea Tree Oil, 'Emu Oil', from the Malaleuca Tree. The healing and therapeutic qualities of this oil has been known by Aborigines for thousands of years.
