UK and Europe Roadtrip - Salzburg

Salzburg Cathedral as you see it today dates back to the 1600s. It is a Roman Catholic Baroque cathedral dedicated to Saint Rupert and Saint Vergilius. There was a church on this site in 774, built by the Romans, but it was destroyed by fire and then rebuilt numerous times over the following centuries. Some of the old foundations and the 14th century Gothic baptismal font remain. Select the photo below to see the impressive entry to the cathedral.
