Hawkes Bay to Rotorua, New Zealand

Next stop along the way was where the Tauranga Stream joined the Waioeka River. We took the short walk down to the historic Tauranga Bridge, the only surviving harp suspension bridge left in New Zealand. The land across the river was cleared for farming in 1906 but they could never make much of a go of it so the bridge goes nowhere now and the area now forms part of the Waioeka Gorge Scenic Reserve.
