Rotorua to Auckland, New Zealand

On the return trip from Cathedral Cove we popped down to Gemstone Bay and Sapphire Bay and then stopped to take in the views from the clifftops across to Motueka Island and Mahurangi Island. Yes, that means we had to hike back up from the beach - nobody said this was a nice flat walk! But it is definitely worth it - especially if you score some fine weather. We were absolutely soaked by the time we got back to the van and were very pleased we had a hot shower on board and another set of dry clothes to get into!
