Auckland to Cape Reinga, New Zealand

We stopped to top up water etc at Houhora Wharf. We had seen the east coast so now it was time to cross to the west coast and check out 90 Mile Beach and the Aupouri Forest that runs alongside. It is actually 88km long but who cares, it seems to stretch as far as the eye can see with wide sandy surf beaches. Today was a bit unpleasant with the wind whipping up the sand into our faces but it was certainly worth the visit.  Select the photo below to see more of this area.
