Lake Tekapo, Lake Pukaki to Oamaru and Kakanui

Scottish shepherds came with their Collie Sheepdogs to this area during the 19th century. Without the help of these sheepdogs, they would not have been able to work the mountainous country. This bronze sheepdog statue at the shores of Lake Tekapo is a reminder of these hard working Collie dogs.
