Lake Tekapo, Lake Pukaki to Oamaru and Kakanui

The Church of the Good Shepherd was the first church built in the area in 1935 as a memorial to the pioneers of the Mackenzie Country. The awe inspiring views of the lake and mountains through the altar window must be a bit distracting for the congregations of Catholic, Presbyterian and Anglican who worship regularly in the Church. Select the photo to see the view through the picture-perfect window you can see inside the church.
