Lake Tekapo to Lake Pukaki

As tempting as Lake Tekapo was to camp, we drove on to the next in the series of lakes in the centre of the South Island, called Lake Pukaki. We discovered it was just as pretty as Lake Tekapo and decided that this is where we would stop for the night. Lake Pukaki is the largest of the three roughly parallel alpine lakes running north-south along the northern edge of the Mackenzie Basin. Pukaki is also fed by the waters of Lake Tekapo.
