Duntroon to Oamaru and Kakanui

On the road from Duntroon to Oamaru we spotted this farm. We had been amazed at the neatly trimmed, tall, high hedges fencing off each of the fields in the Canturbury Region but this one really takes the prize!!! They had taken the time to trim the pine trees to form the name of the farm 'Altavady'. The sheep farm was named ‘Altavady’ by Samuel Wilson, the second owner of the propertyand the letters the name was first laid out in giant pine letters by Ted Aubrey in 1931 when the plantation that surrounds it was first planted.
