Dunedin to Catlins to Bluff

The next peninsula south of Curio Bay is Slope Point which is the most southerly place on the South Island of New Zealand. It is located just south of Waikawa. We walked along a track for 20 minutes across private farmland to access the point where a signpost shows the distance to the south pole and the equator. The surrounding area is predominantly sheep farming country with spectacularly steep drops down to the sea below.
