Punakaiki to GoldenBay, South Island, New Zealand

We travelled down Motueka Valley Highway, had a quick look at beautiful Motueka beach, then climbed 791 meters up the Takaka Hill Highway to Hawkes Lookout where we camped the night (campsite 15). The sun was setting behind the mountains as we called it a day. We were the only ones here on sunset but by morning there were 2 other campers. I would not have liked to come up that narrow winding road in the dark! Select the photo below to see the magnificent view next morning.
