The first thing we came across as we entered the town of Aiud was this Fortress which is protected by high stone walls and towers. It encloses a church with the entire area inside the walls about 3ha. The Aiud Citadel is now a Museum of History. Select the photo below to see the nearby Dumbrava Monastery up closer.
