Inside the Cathedral are the graves and tombs of most of the Romanov rulers some with monoliths carved from semi precious stone such as green Altai jasper. Peter the Great's casket was moved here in 1731. A spectacular golden altar gate, the royal doors, and gilded iconostasis are some of the prominent features.
