Tasmania Roadtrip - Week 5 - Mt Wellington

From the top of Mt Wellington you have amazing views all around. The rocky boulders, columns and pillars make a truly stunning landscape. Many think it is a long dormant volcano but that is not the case. The magma from a vent in the earth oozed out over the surface cooling to a thick sheet of dolerite. Much erosion and large blocks uplifted along faultlines led to this.
