By 1523 the Bodrum Castle (top) was taken over by the Islamic Ottoman Empire and the chapel converted to a mosque by adding a a minaret. The ancient Bodrum Theatre at Halicarnassus (bottom) was built around 400BC and is said to have accomodated 13000 people. Select the photo below to see more.
