UK and Europe Roadtrip - Gelibolu

We followed the path, lined with red Turkish flags either side, down to another tomb and graves. This is called the Flag Baba Tomb. It is where locals come to attach Turkish flags around the tomb of one of the soldiers that carried his unit's flag to signify their identity during the 1400s. He famously cut up the flag and ate it rather than surrender it to the enemy. Select the photo below to see more.
