UK and Europe Roadtrip - Kilitbahir

Kilitbahir Castle is on the west side of the Dardanelles with Çimenlik Castle in Çanakkale opposite it. They sit at the narrowest point of the strait giving control of the sealanes to the ruler of the day. Sultan Suleiman restored the castle again in 1541 adding extra fortification walls and a tower.
