UK and Europe Roadtrip - Seddulbahir

The nearby Seddulbahir Fortress was originally built in 1659 and called the 'Wall of the Sea'. Along with Kumkale on the other side, it was built to defend the entrance to the Dardanelles. It was bombarded by the Royal Navy at the end of 1914 causing serious damage, killing 86 Ottoman soldiers.
