Roadtrip UK - Dunwich Leper Chapel

After a walk along the beach we explored the ruins of the Dunwich Leper Chapel that was built as part of St James’ Hospital for Lepers in the 1100s. It is the most ancient part of Dunwich still standing. Select the photo for another view. The Leper hospital continued to be used until the Reformation in the 1500s, when the care of lepers was no longer the responsibility of the church.
