Roadtrip UK - Bury St Edmunds

We tried to park near the town centre as we knew that Bury St Edmunds' Abbey Ruins and Cathedral were near there. The death of the King of the East Angles, Edmund, in 869 led to the building of a Norman abbey to house his remains. Very little remains of the Benedictine Abbey but St James' Church, that was built in the grounds, continued to grow and eventually became Edmundsbury Cathedral in 1914. Renovations continue today.
