Roadtrip UK and Europe - St Marys

John Baret had this tomb made for him before his death in 1467. It is quite grotesque as was the fashion in those days! He was a merchant in the town now known as Bury St Edmunds and probably was a member of the household of the Abbot. He must have been in royal favour to be entombed in St Marys.
