Roadtrip UK and Europe - Great St Marys

There was a church on this site from the 11th century. It was rebuilt in the 1200s and Great St Mary's has been the University Church in Cambridge since 1478. You can pass through the intricately carved stone entrance and climb to the top of the tower, finished in 1608, where they house the 12 bells. The gilded clock face, with hands shaped like sun's rays has the date 1679 above it.
