UK and Europe Roadtrip - Rochester Castle

We parked not far from Rochester Castle and made our way through the drizzle to explore this amazing ruin on the bank of the River Medway. Before the Normans arrived, castles were virtually unheard of in England. The construction of this castle started in 1087 under orders of the Bishop of Rochester.
