Port Vila , Efate Island, Vanuatu

They speak MANY languages in Vanuatu with Bislama being the indigenous language and used on the signs in the photo below. Most people also speak English and French which is taught in the schools. The Americans had hit the place with Digicel mobile phone network the week before so all across the islands, no matter how remote, you saw 'Digicel Top Up Here' signs. This is a typical shop in Vanuatu (thatched huts in the village behind) and it had been freshly painted red & white and new signs put up. It is interesting when most places don't have electricity but they all have mobile phones!
