Tanna Island, Vanuatu

The red arrow shows the tiny black area that is the opening to the cave (only 15cm x 10cm above water). Of course we were told that the opening was much bigger if you dived down under water. It was a bit of a scary thought to trust that if you dived down and headed for the light you would come up in a big cave - especially with the water moving in and out and you trying not to hit your head on the jagged rocks. Apart from the Blue Cave itself the snorkelling outside was amazing as the visibility was 'forever'!!! . The light blue area was sandy bottom with the darker blue either side covered in vast gardens of colourful corals and fish everywhere. Very impressive.
