Calgary to Edmonton, Alberta

Next stop was Sylvan Lake - a very very large lake, big enough to whip up waves on a windy day like today. This is a popular "beach" in Alberta. We were still coming to grips with the idea that a beach didn't have to be beside an ocean with surf waves and involve wide tracts of white sand. Although it was only knee deep for quite a distance out from the edge and pretty cold, there were still quite a few swimming.
