Banff National Park, Alberta

Fairmont's Chateau Lake Louise is one of Canada's grand railway hotels built early in the 20th century by the Canadian Pacific Railway. This luxury resort hotel is located on Lake Louise's eastern shore. As magical as it is in winter, it is just as pretty in summer.  Select the photo to see the view of the Chateau from the very end of the lake. You can see the white 'rock flour' that has washed down into the lake from the glaciers as they move and grind the rocks into a powdery silt. As the silt mixes with the water of the lake it gives it the blue colour.
