Banff National Park, Alberta

As you walk along the wide flat trail that leads around the right edge of the lake you often spot squirrrels ducking in and out of the flowering bushes. You can continue on beyond the end of the lake on a trail that climbs the glacial moraine up to the Plain of Six Glaciers. Unfortunately we didn't have the time for that five-hour return trip even though it is said to be one the best hikes in the Canadian Rockies.
