Fairbanks and Arctic Circle, Alaska

When we arrived in Fairbanks we went straight to the Visitor Centre in town. We had been told by friends to book the Bush Mail Plane flight first thing when we got there so we didn't miss out. It doesn't take too many people and there are few flights to choose from. We were unable to get on that day but we made a booking for next day. While we were there, we rang the SternWheeler Riverboat Discovery people (free local phone calls at visitor centre) and as luck would have it, there was space on the one leaving in an hour. Just enough time to use the internet (free internet access) and get to the boat.
