Valdez to Anchorage - Alaska

A nice spot for lunch! Pete found another local to chat to. He only works May to September as is the case with a lot of Alaskans it seems. He goes south to "the lower 49" in winter to visit with relatives. They refer to the rest of USA as "the lower 49" as Alaska is the 50th state. There is not a person we met that didn't say something along the lines of "Australia?... I've always wanted to go there. I have a ....(relative/friend)... I know who went there recently and they loved it."
