Nanaimo to Telegraph Cove - Vancouver Island

Long Beach, named for its 16km stretch of surf swept sand, is open year-round and offers outstanding beach hiking, surfing and whale watching. Around Ucluelet is also known for Storm watching. Ferocious waves roll in from Japan and pound the shores of this rugged west coast in winter. That explains all these logs I guess. We make sandcastles in Australia but it seems they make little wind shelters here! There were heaps of these scattered along the beach.
