UK and Europe Roadtrip - Mechelen

Belgium is a country with a long-standing tradition of publicly commissioned artworks and we found a few on our travels. Opsinjoorke (bottom right) is a part of Mechelen's folklore that dates back to the 1600s. He represents a drunken fool, a doll that used to be thrown into the air during ceremonial processions.
