UK and Europe Roadtrip - Mechelen

We wandered down one of the very narrow streets, passed the ornate gothic styled city hall building. In the 1500s, Mechelen was at its most influential as capital of the Netherlands and ruled by Margaret of Austria. This Grand Council Building is part of the current Town Hall of Mechelen and was built at that time. Unusually, the town hall has three distinct structures each built in different centuries.
