Broken Hill, New South Wales

Broken Hill was created solely for the mining of silver, lead and zinc in the 1890's but the city's mining operations have wound down since the start. Tourists still visit because of the mining history, tours, extensive historic buildings & icons and because of the surprisingly scenic outback surroundings. These murals were painted by a local artist commissioned by the Rotary Club in 2004.
