Fraser Island, Queensland 2005

We paid for our campsites and vehicle permits online a couple of weeks before we left. We headed off from Brisbane early so that we could get last minute fuel & supplies at Rainbow Beach before taking the barge across from Inskip Point. There is no need to book this barge as they run every 15 minutes. We headed up the middle track from the southern tip of Fraser Island for 13km before cutting across onto the eastern beach (surfside). Hook Point is a bit tricky to get around unless you are within 2 hours of low tide.

Of course, you can't go to QLD without visiting the Gold Coast theme parks.
