We went out in the power boat to get a closer look at the whales. You can't motor up closer than 100m to the whale but if you are lucky you can guess which way they are heading and place your boat strategically, cut the engines and then hope they continue to swim toward you. They are VERY used to whale watching tours and usually perform quite well for the tour boats.
