UK and Europe Roadtrip - Heidelberg

We spotted the ruins of Heidelberg Castle up on Königstuhl Hill so took the funicular to the top. It was first built in the 1200s but wasn't used as a residence for royalty until the late 1300s. It was destroyed by lightning in 1764 and never rebuilt. Select the photo below to see more of the view from the castle down to the Neckar River.
