Kenilworth State Forest & Conondale National Park, Queensland

Australia Day long weekend is a great time to visit the Upper Mary River Valley. Conondale, Kenilworth, Montville, Maleny, Eumundi are some of the small towns in this area with wineries and cheese making factories some of the highlights of the visit. The Kenilworth State Forest has four campgrounds and recreational areas on Booloumba Creek and Little Yabba Creek. We have stayed at both Charlie Moreland State Forest and Booloumba Creek Campgrounds. There are picnic tables and fire rings, flushing toilets (no showers), shaded sites, bush walks and swimming in the creeks which run alongside the campgrounds. We came home with 10 bottles of wine, 4 tubs of yoghurt and 2 blocks of cheese from our weekend's tasting sessions!
