The dam wall is not that high. It was constructed in 1984 and can hold 15,500 million litres. As Lake Lenthall is the main source of drinking water for Hervey Bay they need to ensure the water doesn't get contaminated by oil, fuel or soil from bank erosion. A speed limit of 4 knots and a motor size of 4.5kw (6hp) applies.
